We'd love to get to know you better. Take a moment to say hi to the community in the comments.
Talk about where you're from, where you're at in your journey to becoming a SOC analyst, what you've tried that worked and didn't work, and what you're going to do next.
Hello,
My name is Lex. I am a working student, currently attending Western Governor's University with a focus on Cybersecurity. Moreover, I work full-time for California's largest utility, Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
I work as a senior claims assistant for the workers' compensation team under Enterprise Health and Safety (EHS).
I am just starting my journey in SOC. I have experience in IT, but mostly field with hardware focus and not much on software.
I love to play PC games, and somehow I had to force myself to understand how the damn thing works, which was my christening by metal for lack of a better word. I had to learn hardware and software and OS and anything in between because I just wanted to play my games and unwind. I was not a happy camper when my games do not work.
I am mostly self-thought, but I read from time to time. Hands On is the king in my book and the information retention is surreal when I get the chance.
Currently studying for my PMP and then off to the races on getting Network+ and CC and many more.
