My career in IT and cybersecurity has been like an exciting ride, right alongside the super-fast changes in the tech world. Starting from the nostalgic era of the Vic20 and Commodore 64 during my high school years, my interest with computers has been the cornerstone of my professional career/hobby. As the computing world transitioned from the foundational 8086 (my first being a dual floppy, no hard drive), 286, and 486 systems to the advanced Pentium series, my hobby of building and using them mirrored these changes, marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and skill enhancement.

At the beginning of my first steps career steps started at Interfirst's IT department. I began my career constructing and configuring desktop computers. This role demanded a blend of technical proficiency, inventive problem-solving (usually when the bash script for imaging went sideways), and agility in navigating the swiftly evolving tech landscape. I eventually moved from helpdesk to the role of a Systems Administrator, managing Windows NT3/4 servers, characterized by escalating responsibilities in complex system management and the assurance of uninterrupted IT operations. The transfer of the IT department to IBM eventually led to a temporary shift away from the field when my position was dissolved. I spent the next year on hiatus from the IT field, but continued to work on my own computer, rebuilding it with newer technology, and expanding its capabilities.

My re-entry into the IT sector with A2 Hosting marked a pivotal turn in my career. Progressing from Helpdesk to Team Lead and eventually to Systems Engineer, I demonstrated resilience and dedication to lifelong learning. It was during the latter phase of my career that my passion for cybersecurity took hold. I worked alongside the new Senior Security Engineer on many new projects. Delving into a plethora of certifications and courses, I have tried to amass a diverse skill set encompassing SOC analysis, ethical hacking, and more. Earning credentials such as the SOC Analyst Level 1 from Cybrary, SOC Analyst Now/Hack Now/Cloud Security Now from Cyber Now, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, and Google Cybersecurity Professional certification.

In my current pursuit of the Security+, I am further reinforcing my knowledge in cybersecurity. My interests have evolved into specialized domains like SOC Analysist, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), and Ethical Hacking. Beyond current course work and training, I am actively engaged in platforms like Try Hack Me and Hack the Box Academy.
